Who we are

We’ve spent over 25 years designing strategies, mapping journeys, and building tools that solve real problems. We’ve worked with ministries, multinationals, startups, and everything in between.


Mothership is led by DJ Adema and supported by a tight-knit crew of collaborators, designers, researchers, and developers. We keep the team small so we can stay fast, focused, and personal.

 Where are we located?

Mothership operates from Amsterdam. Our diverse team is made up of many nationalities with a variety of unique perspectives and expertise. 

We have clients in banking/finance (ING, NN), (scientific) publishing (Reed Elsevier, Emerald Publishing), heavy industry/tech infra (Royal HaskoningDHV, NS), fast-moving consumer goods/retail and medical (Royal Flora Holland, Philips), telco (KPN, Vodafone/Ziggo), mobility/aviation (KLM, Schiphol International Airport), and more.
